The New Zealand golfer Michael Campbell has finished tied for 14th at the European Masters in Switzerland.

The former US Open champion carded a four under par 67 in the final round at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.

Campbell's best result this year was a tie for 11th place at the French Open in August.

In the United States, fellow New Zealander Steven Alker dropped six places in the final round to finish tied for 19th at the Mylan Classic on the web.com Tour in Pennsylvania.

Alker, who began the week in 87th place on the web.com Tour money list, jumps six places on the order of merit to 81st.

He needs to climb inside the top 25 to automatically qualify for next year's PGA Tour.
