Auckland's scored a bonus point 32-22 win over visitors Waikato in their provincial rugby clash at Eden Park.
Auckland go top equal with Taranaki and Wellington, who lost to Canterbury in Christchurch - the Lions also losing their unbeaten record in the 20-12 defeat.
Canterbury led 10-5 at half-time. They move into second place.
