English cricket's problem child Kevin Pietersen could resume his international career during the tour of India later this year following the delayed announcement of the touring party until next week.
England's most talented batsman remains in international exile following a series of flare-ups that led to him being dropped following the drawn second Test with South Africa at Headingley last month.
Pietersen's not in England's squad which will defend its World Twenty20 title in Sri Lanka later this month.
But he appears to have been handed a lifeline after the selectors decided they wouldn't be ready to name their touring party as scheduled.
