Shot putter Valerie Adams arrived home tired Wednesday morning to be overwhelmed by the support awaiting her in Auckland.
Adams was presented with her Olympic gold medal at a special presentation at The Cloud on the Auckland waterfront in the evening.
She has been competing in Europe since the London Olympics and the subsequent upheaval following the suspension of drugs cheat Nadzeya Ostapchuk.
Adams hasn't been home since March and says she's delighted to be back.
