French top seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga comfortably defended his Metz ATP tennis title with a routine 6-1 6-2 win over Italian fifth seed Andreas Seppi.

It took just under an hour for world number seven Tsonga to claim his second title of the year and ninth of his career.

The 27-year-old was also the champion in Doha in January, when he defeated compatriot Gael Monfils, and made the semi-finals at Wimbledon, Marseille and Winston-Salem.
