Elias says Sheens would be good for the Warriors

The Tigers great Benny Elias believes coach Tim Sheens would be an ideal fit for the New Zealand Warriors.

Tim Sheens has reportedly quit as coach as the Wests Tigers NRL club after ten years, following days of player unrest.

Sheens is believed to have told the players and club of his decision yesterday afternoon, and a scheduled board meeting at the club to discuss his future didn't eventuate last night.

Elias, who is a former Tigers board member, says Sheens still has so much to offer....

While the Tigers are working on a financial settlement with the four-time premiership-winning coach, it's understood the club couldn't afford to pay Sheens the 900-thousand dollars due on the remaining two years of his contract.

Elias says a deal with the Warriors would certainly lessen the payout from the Tigers.
