The All Black first five Dan Carter is making good progress from his calf injury and is expected to start in their Rugby Championship match against Argentina in Buenos Aires this Sunday.
Carter missed their last two matches, with Aaron Cruden starting against Argentina and South Africa in New Zealand.
Coach Steve Hansen is optimistic Carter will play, saying the number ten is giving them good feedback, and as long as there are no setbacks they should be fine.
The team will be named Friday morning.
