Reds reaffirm Cooper's staying with them

The Queensland Reds have moved to publicly reassure the fans that their controversial first five Quade Cooper is staying with the Super Rugby franchise.

In the wake of Cooper's repeated expressions of dissatisfaction with rugby, the Reds chief executive Jim Carmichael has written an open letter to Reds members and supporters, reassuring them that Cooper has no interest in leaving the Reds, and that the player has reaffirmed his commitment to the franchise.

Cooper has indicated publicly his main issues are with Australian coach Robbie Deans, who he claims has shackled his attacking game while playing for the Wallabies, and he's described the atmosphere within national camp as toxic.

Cooper's 2013 contract with Queensland is dependent upon him re-signing with the Australian Rugby Union.
