The rallying legend Sebastian Loeb, who is heading for a record ninth straight world title won't be fully involved in next year's championship.

The Citroen team says their top man and his co-driver Daniel Elena won't be defending their title next year, but they will take part in a number of rounds in 2013, including the season-opening Monte Carlo rally.

38-year-old Loeb, who's been voted France's favourite sports personality three times, has always said he wanted to quit rallying at his peak.
