New Zealand rugby officials robbed in Argentina

Updated at 6:14 am on 3 October 2012

Two senior New Zealand rugby officials have been mugged in Buenos Aires.

The New Zealand Rugby Union says chairman Mike Eagle and board director Gerard van Tilborg were accosted by assailants on motorcycles outside the All Blacks hotel.

The Union says the muggers took a Rolex watch from van Tilborg but nothing from Eagle.

Neither man was hurt during the incident, which has been reported to the police.

The team had been getting ready to leave the hotel for the airport at the time, following the All Blacks' 54-15 win over Argentina.
