Tim Sheens has remained tight-lipped about his future plans after losing his job at Wests Tigers, but admits he needs to beat New Zealand on Saturday in Townsville if he wants to keep his job as Kangaroos for another year.

A year out from the Rugby League World Cup in the UK, Sheens has yet to agree a new contract with the Australian Rugby League Commission, and he's desperate to get the opportunity to win back the biggest prize in the international game for Australia.

The Australian League chairman John Grant says a decision will be made on Sheens' future very soon.
