The All Blacks expect South Africa to play a more expansive game than they managed in their previous Rugby Championship clash when the teams meet in Soweto on Sunday morning.
New Zealand assistant coach Ian Foster says the Springboks seem to have the intent to play with more width than they did against the All Blacks did in their last meeting in Dunedin and they may throw a few different things at the tourists.
Foster says the All Blacks are still expecting a barrage of high kicks from the Springboks in the thin altitude of the highveld, and a tough physical battle through the forwards.
He says there'll be opportunities if the Boks play expansive rugby, as there is the risk of errors and it's not something that comes naturally.
Fullback Israel Dagg says the back three will have to work together as a unit, because the ball goes a lot higher at altitude.
Veteran hooker Keven Mealamu says the All Blacks were pretty satisfied with the win in Argentina as the pack definitely stepped up and it was great to see the plans finally come together, but the margins are still very small.
The All Blacks have already won the inaugural Rugby Championship with their win over the Pumas at the weekend.
