The 21-year-old Gore golfer Vaughan McCall has set his sights high after finishing the top New Zealander at the Eisenhower Amateur World Championship in Turkey.

The New Zealand team finished tied for 24th, 24 shots behind winners the United States, while McCall was New Zealand's top individual tied for 13th.

McCall, who won the New Zealand Strokeplay and Amateur titles this year, says he's aiming for best individual at the next world event in two years' time.

Meanwhile team-mate Ben Campbell will now turn professional and will attempt to qualify for the European Tour.
