New Zealand's gold medal rower Eric Murray has confirmed he's committed to returning to representing his country at the 2016 Rio Olympics and hasn't ruled out the possibility of a men's eight.
Eric Murray won gold in the men's pair with partner Hamish Bond in emphatic fashion at this year's London Olympics.
Rowing was New Zealand's strongest sport - picking up 5 medals at London's Eton Dorney.
Murray says the motivation is high at the moment and he's keen to don the silver fern again in four years - most likely back in the men's pair.
Murray says although the talent pool is available for an eight, New Zealand rowing will only commit if the team has a good shot at a medal.
Meanwhile, Mahe Drysdale says he's leaning towards making a return to the lake to represent his country at the Rio Olympics but he's yet make a final decision.
Drysdale claimed his first gold medal in the sport at this year's Olympic Games in London, where New Zealand's rowers claimed a total of 5 medals at Eton Dorney.
He admits the decision will come down to whether his body can handle it mentally and physically.
