The Waikato-based franchise, the Chiefs, have signed Auckland first-five Gareth Anscombe for the 2013 Super rugby season.
Anscombe has been one of the form first-five's for the ITM Cup and Chiefs coach Dave Rennie says although they weren't looking for a first-five, Anscombe had become available and the Waikato side were quick to sign him.
Anscombe made his Super Rugby debut for the Blues in 2011 and has represented Auckland in the ITM Cup since 2010.
