Herbert denies Premier League players minds are elsewhere

The New Zealand football coach Ricki Herbert has scoffed at suggestions that Premier League players Ryan Nelsen and Wintston Reid aren't committed to the All Whites cause.

Nelsen and Reid were held back in England by their clubs from competing in the Oceania World Cup qualifier in Tahiti.

Many have questioned their desire to wear the New Zealand jersey but Herbert says while it isn't ideal he can empathise with the players situation and says they're as committed to the All Whites as any other team member.

Herbert says Nelsen and Reid will be available for the return leg against Tahiti in Christchurch on Tuesday.
