Phoenix lose another player to illness

The Wellington Phoenix have been dealt another blow before today's match at the Melbourne Heart with youngster Cameron Lindsay ruled out through illness.

Lindsay was taken to hospital after vomiting throughout the night and the doctor has since ruled out any chance of him playing.

His omission means Jimmy Downey, who has no pre-season game time under his belt after an injury-hit last season, jumped on an afternoon flight from Wellington.

Young goalkeeper Scott Basalaj, promoted from the Phoenix's Football School of Excellence, has also missed out on making his debut through illness.
