The British tennis player Andy Murray failed in his bid to make it a hat-trick of titles at the Shanghai Masters after losing a three-set thriller to Novak Djokovic.
In their first meeting since Murray's win in the US Open final, Djokovic triumphed in 3 close sets, the second went to 13-11, the Serb saving 5 match points.
Murray has had his best year with a win in New York and at the London Olympics, but was still deflated to have been beaten in China.
The last big event of the season is the World Tour Finals in London early next month.
