The average cost of the cheapest adult ticket in the top four divisions of English football has risen by 11.7% - more than five times the rate of inflation.

A BBC survey has found that the average price of the most affordable ticket in league football has risen from 19 pounds to just over 21 pounds or about 40 New Zealand dollars.

The most expensive adult matchday ticket is Arsenal at almost 250 dollars and the cheapest 12 dollars at Montrose.

In a survey of a day out, which includes a ticket, a pie and a cup of tea, the best deal in the Premiership is 45 dollars at Newcastle's St James Park.
