New Zealand's most dominant rowing crew, the men's pair of Eric Murray and Hamish Bond have been named as one of the finalists for the Men's World Rowing Crew of the Year award.

Murray and Bond haven't lost a race since 2009 and won Olympic gold this year.

They won the world award last year.

Coach Dick Tonks is up for his third coaching honour having previously won in 2005 and 2010.

Tonks played a part in all 5 of New Zealand's Olympic medals this year, which included 3 gold.
