QPR remain rooted to the bottom as Everton lose ground

6:33 am on 22 October 2012

The All Whites football captain Ryan Nelsen's Queen's Park Rangers team is still winless and bottom of the English Premier League, after QPR drew 1-1 with 10-man Everton in London.

Everton lost ground on the top three but David Moyes' men will be thankful for a point, having played the last half an hour a man down after the sending off of Steven Pienaar.

The result leaves Everton still three points behind Manchester United and Manchester City, with Chelsea four points clear at the top.

There was a sending-off in the day's other match and it cost Newcastle victory at neighbours Sunderland, who fought back for a 1-1 draw with an equaliser five minutes from time.
