England coach wants ANZ Championship to become creative

The England netball coach Anna Mayes wants a shakeup of the game globally, saying it needs some help outside of Australasia.

Mayes' side is playing in the Quad Series and were beaten 57-46 by the Silver Ferns on Thursday night.

Mayes says her side is getting better, but individually more of her players could learn so much from playing in a competition like the trans-Tasman ANZ Championship, which she says is the best competition in the world.

She says there's real opportunity in both the performance and commercial arenas for netball to move forward if the countries work together.

Meanwhile the Quad Series moves to Tauranga on Sunday - England play the unbeaten Australians and New Zealand play South Africa.
