New Zealand Cricket's announced a deficit of almost $2 million for the past financial, but it's $5.5 million better than forecast.
Without a major revenue earning ICC tournament in the 2011-12 financial year, NZC's chief operating officer Craig Presland says they knew it would a difficult year.
He says the organisation had budgeted for $7.30 million deficit but reduced that by $5.43 million, due to sponsorship and media rights agreements that were negotiated.
