The English golfer Ian Poulter is celebrating one of the biggest wins of his career after a closing round of 65 last night sealed his victory in the Champions Tournament at Mission Hills course in China.

The European Ryder Cup star who was 14-under par for the weekend, started his final round four strokes behind the leaders, and won by two shots from South Africa's Ernie Els, and the American trio Jason Dufner, Scott Piercy and Phil Mickelson.

Poulter's next event is the defence of his Australian Masters title, starting in Melbourne on Thursday week.
