Hearts say they can be saved

Scottish Cup football holders Hearts can be saved according to a director, after the Edinburgh club issued an appeal to supporters for emergency financial backing.

Segejus Fedotovas says he doesn't believe this is the end of Hearts and he's confident a solution will be found.

Money has long been tight in Scottish football and Rangers, champions a record 54 times, were demoted to the fourth tier this year after collapsing under the weight of their debts.

Hearts, founded in 1874, warned that they could go out of business this month after being issued with a winding-up order over a tax bill for almost a million dollars.
