McIlroy No.1 on both sides of the Atlantic

The world golf number one Rory McIlroy celebrated an "amazing" feat as he became only the second man to win the money race on both sides of the Atlantic, courtesy of a third-place finish at the Singapore Open.

The 23-year-old Northern Irishman closed out in style with a 35-foot eagle putt on his last hole in Singapore Open, and his unassailable lead in the standings was confirmed when South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen lost a play-off with the 19-year-old Italian Matteo Manassero.

McIlroy, who says it's specially satisfying to finish top earner in Europe for the first time, emulated the feat of England's Luke Donald who last year won both the US and European money titles.
