Breakers on top of NBL

The New Zealand Breakers emerged from the weekend as the big story of the Australian National Basketball League, winning their double-header in Queensland and capitalising on Wollongong's shock 14-point loss to Sydney to go to the top of the table.

The champions have won six straight games after their successful Sunshine Swing, beating Townsville 81-72 and Cairns 73-54.

Breakers coach Andre Lemanjis says their success has been based mainly on defence, and he rates his American guard Cedric Jackson as the best point guard in the NBL.
