The 5th seeded New Zealanders finished top of their group and now meet the 11th seeded Canadians.
New Zealand are then likely to meet third seeds Malaysia in the last 8.
In the draw for the last 16 round, favourites England will face neighbours Wales, and 2008 champions Egypt, the number 2 seeds, will take on Mexico.
