The former England football international David Beckham could be on his way to the A League with several clubs reportedly being offered his services for a ten game stint.

With Major League Soccer in the United States finishing finishing in a fortnight, the timing would work for the 37-year-old LA Galaxy star.

Beckham is the third-highest earner in the MLS at earning five million dollars a season having accepted a two million dollar pay cut in his most recent deal.

Big city clubs like Sydney FC, Western Sydney, Melbourne Heart and possibly Brisbane are considered the most likely destinations for the former Manchester United playmaker.

Gareth Morgan one of the owners of the Wellington Phoenix says he wasn't aware of any aproach to Phoenix but says they couldn't afford Beckham anyway.
