Cook helps England into final day

A defiant century from captain Alastair Cook has ensured England's battle to save the first cricket test against India in Ahmedabad will go into the final day.

The opener batted throughout day four to reach 168 not out, taking the tourists to 340 for five - a lead of 10.

England are following-on after being dismissed for 191 in their first innings in reply to India's opening knock of 521 for eight declared.
