The New Zealand runner Kim Smith has finished sixth in the Yokohama Women's Marathon in Japan in a time of two hours 27 minutes and 35 seconds..
The race was won by favourite Lydia Cheromei of Kenya in two hours 23 minutes and six seconds.
Smith was in the leading bunch for the first half of the race, until Chermei broke away.
Smith decided to run Yokohama after the New York Marathon was cancelled.
