Cooper to quit ARU?

6:40 am on 20 November 2012

The controversial Wallabies first five Quade Cooper is reported to have quit Austalian rugby after being offered an incentive-based contract, of the kind usually offered to international rookies.

According to Channel Nine Cooper has turned his back on the Australian Rugby Union and the Wallabies and will either continue his career overseas, switch to rugby league or even take up a boxing career.

Cooper has a Super Rugby contract with Queensland but that agreement is contingent upon a contract with the game's governing body.

Three weeks ago Cooper was hit with a $40,000 fine and a suspended playing ban for his comments about the Wallabies "toxic" environment under coach Robbie Deans.
