Trainee professional golfer hungry for New Zealand Open debut

The Takaka professional golfer Sean Riordan will make his New Zealand Open debut after winning the final qualifying event yesterday at the Russley Golf Club in Christchurch.

He shot a four under par 68 to be one shot better than well-performed NZ professionals Troy Ropiha and Anthony Doyle and the Australian Daniel Valente.

The trainee professional Riordan, says he's excited to play in his first New Zealand Open after coming up short in the final qualifier four years ago.

Riordanbelieves he can be a genuine contender at the Clearwater Golf Club.
