FA drops case against referee

England's FA has dropped a charge against referee Mark Clattenburg following an accusation he used "inappropriate language" in an English Premier League match

Chelsea claimed Clattenburg used racial language towards their midfielder John Mikel Obi in their 3-2 home defeat by Manchester United.

The FA interviewed Clattenburg, Mikel and several other Blues players before reaching a decision.

The Metropolitan Police dropped its own inquiry earlier this month.

Clattenburg, who always maintained his innocence, missed 4 weekends of Premier League matches, while the FA investigated Chelsea's complaint.
