Carter and Mealamu in contention for England test

6:10 am on 27 November 2012

The All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster says first five Dan Carter and hooker Keven Mealamu both remain in contention to play England in their European tour finale this weekend.

Carter and Mealamu both have leg injuries and missed last weekend's win over Wales in Cardiff.

Foster says neither have been ruled out yet.

He says there are a number of players bruised and sore and they'll take things lightly for a few days before getting into full contact training ahead of the Twickenham clash.

Tom Taylor and Hika Elliott have both joined up with the squad as cover.

Meanwhile England's first five Toby Flood has been ruled out of the match with a broken toe, he'll be replaced by either Owen Farrell or Freddie Burns.

The other major concern for Stuart Lancaster is prop Alex Corbisiero who picked up a knee injury against South Africa, but there is no word yet on whether he will be ruled out of the game.
