NRL chief executives to discuss salary cap

5:50 am on 28 November 2012

National Rugby League chief executives will meet in Sydney today to discuss a call for a bigger salary cap.

Clubs are allocated 7 million Australian dollars in funding for next season, with 5 million to cover the salary cap... however the Players Association has not agreed to that figure.

They feel most clubs use more than 25 players at NRL level each season so the cap should be expanded.

The proposal could allow Israel Folau to move to Parramatta and Brett Stewart to stay at Manly without the clubs having to off-load players.
