The Wallabies lock Sitaleki Timani has copped a one-week suspension for striking Italian prop Andrea Lo Cicero Vaina and will miss this weekend's clash with Wales in Cardiff.

Timani pleaded guilty to the striking charge with the hearing in Bristol taking less than one hour.

Timani struck the Italian front-rower with a forearm in the 13th minute of last weekend's 22-19 win over Italy in Florence.

Kane Douglas is expected to take Timani's place in the starting side for Australia's European tour finale.

Douglas is returning after suffering a knee injury in the opening game of the tour against France three weeks ago.
