FIFA chief praises Sao Paulo

FIFA's secretary-general Jerome Valcke, who caused a stir earlier this year by saying Brazil needed a "kick up the backside" to ensure the 2014 World Cup goes off on schedule, has offered praise on a visit to the new stadium in Sao Paulo.

Valcke led a delegation that included former Brazil stars Ronaldo and Bebeto to the stadium on the eastern side of Sao Paulo and pronounced himself impressed.

Next June's eight-nation Confederations Cup tournament, using just six venues, will serve as a dry run for 2014.
