Black Ferns go down at Twickers too

9:05 am on 2 December 2012

The Black Ferns completed a mostly miserable day for New Zealand rugby with their third straight loss to England, going down 32-23 at Twickenham.

The loss completes a 3-0 series sweep for England over the World Cup holders and compounds a dark day for the code in New Zealand, with the All Blacks beaten 38-21 earlier at Twickenham.

It's England's highest-ever score and record winning margin over the All Blacks, and just their seventh win in 35 Tests against New Zealand.

It's the All Blacks' second-biggest defeat in test history.

The national women's sevens team was the only victorious New Zealand rugby side on Sunday, thrashing South Africa 41-0 in Dubai to claim the inaugural IRB women's World Series title.

The All Blacks Sevens lost their World Series final to Samoa, going down 26-15, also in Dubai.

But the New Zealanders still go top of the series after two rounds.
