Australia sweep weather-affected Asia-Pacific amateur champs

Australia's golfers have claimed both the team and the individual honours at the weather-affected 2012 Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship in Hong Kong.

The defending champions began the event with a one-shot leading total of 301 from the best four scores at the Discovery Bay Golf Club and that was to prove the final and winning score when the three round event was reduced to one round.

Low cloud made visibility almost zero and play impossible for the senior golfers from the Asia-Pacific region.

New Zealand finished runner-up again to the Australians who continued their fine record in the event by winning the title for the third year in a row.
