The All Blacks coach Steve Hansen says managing key players over a long season is an ongoing issue.
At the back of a long season the All Blacks lacked their usual zip and accuracy during their loss to England over the weekend.
Hansen says with a demanding Super Rugby competition and full schedules these days, looking after players has become very important.
He says New Zealand's top players are being asked to do the most, and managers and coaches need to come together and do what's right by individuals and their respective Super Rugby franchises.
Steve Hansen says while the loss to England took the polish off the year, 2012 was mostly memorable.
