LeMond standing for UCI presidency

6:34 am on 4 December 2012

The three times Tour de France champion Greg LeMond has agreed to run for president of the International Cycling Union, saying it's now or never after a series of doping scandals in the sport.

LeMond is part of a lobby group called Change Cycling Now, set up by former riders, journalists and a sponsor who look to radically change the way the sport is ruled in the wake of the Lance Armstrong doping scandal.

The Current UCI president, Irishman Pat McQuaid has said he is seeking a third term.
