McIlroy voted PGA tour player of Year

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy has been voted the PGA Tour Player of the Year afteran outstanding season.

23-year-old McIlroy was the popular choice for the annual Jack Nicklaus Award, decided by a vote among fellow tour players, and he's the youngest recipient of the award since Tiger Woods in 1998.

McIlroy won four PGA Tour titles this year, including the PGA Championship by a record eight strokes, and he was the leading money winner on both the US and European tours.
