Scott says he'll use long putter at Australian Open

Title favourite Adam Scott says he will probably stick with his trusty broomstick for the Australian golf Open despite again trialling a shorter putter during practice on the tournament eve.

The sports lawmakers have announced that they intend to ban the long putters which are anchored to a players body.

Scott used a specially-ordered 40-inch putter on the front nine before reverting to his familiar, chest-anchored long putter for the rest of his pro-am round at The Lakes.

The world number seven had little joy with either and admits he's not 100 per cent certain which putter he will use in today's opening round, but he's leaning towards the long wand.

There are 13 New Zealand golfers in the field led by the in-form Ryan Fox and Mark Brown.
