Black Sox softball coach believes future bright

The coach of the national men's softball side sees a bright future for the code here.

Eddie Kohlhase says the national fastpitch championships which took place last week in Auckland shows the talent coming through the ranks.

Kohlhase has named his side for next year's world championships and says the next generation is arriving, even though the likes of Brad Rona and Jarrad Martin will play in their fourth and fifth world championships respectively.

The coach says some of those veterans are legends of the game and may hang around for another one or two world champs, but Kohlhase says he's seeing the next generation coming through now and they just need international game-time to experience the next level.

The softball world championships take place in Auckland in March next year and will occur every two years from then on, rather than the historic four-year cycle.
