Wellington have beaten Central Districts by 55 runs in their HRV Cup Twenty20 match in napier.
An explosive start of 75 from Jesse Ryder led Wellington to an imposing 214 for five from their 20 overs.
They then restricted Central to 159 for nine in reply, with Doug Bracewell unable to bat having earlier sustained an injury.
The win puts the Firebirds into second on the HRV Cup points table, four adrift of leaders the Northern Knights.
