Drysdale wins his third Billy Webb Challenge

Defending champion Mahe Drysdale has won the Billy Webb Challenge on the Whanganui River for the third time.

The Olympic single sculls rowing champion comfortably beat fellow London Games gold medallist Nathan Cohen by around four lengths, while the Swede Lassi Karonen was third in the five-kilometre race.

Another London Games gold medallist Eric Murray came home fourth, ahead of Cohen's Olympic double sculls team-mate Joseph Sullivan.

Australian double Olympic medallist Kim Crow convincingly won the four-strong women's event.
