New Zealand has won the third round of rugby's sevens World Series in South Africa, thrashing France 47-12 in the final and giving the champions more breathing space at the top of the overall standings.

The All Blacks Sevens outscored the French seven tries to two in the final, with Kurt Baker hugely impressive bagging a hat-trick of tries.

Tomasi Cama was named player of the tournament.

New Zealand is now on 60 points, ahead of France on 46, who leapfrogged Fiji after their disappointing tournament.

The next round of the IRB sevens is in Wellington in February. The hosts head Pool A and will face the USA, England and Spain on day one.
