Ferguson wary of City's ability to score late goals

Sir Alex Ferguson says he would have been bitterly disappointed if Manchester United had lost their English Premiership derby at Manchester City on Monday morning.

United won in dramatic fashion, thanks to a Robin van Persie stoppage-time goal from a free kick, sealing a 3-2 victory which has given United a six-point lead.

United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson says he was wary of City's ability to score late goals, but he would have been disappointed if they had lost, having been up 2-0 before the half hour mark.

Elsewhere Liverpool won 3-2 away at West Ham, the decider coming from a late own goal.

And two goals either side of the 90th minute gave Everton a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur, moving them up to fourth place.
