Parker knocks out Tutaki

The young boxer Joseph Parker has won his third professional heavyweight fight, with a technical knockout victory over fellow Aucklander Richard Tutaki.

Parker's third round triumph was the main event at the Fight For Life celebrity charity boxing event in Auckland, which was won 3-1 by the rugby league team.

The Olympic gold medallist rower Eric Murray went the full three rounds against Warriors star Manu Vatuvei but lost on points. Paul Gallen beat the All Black hooker Hika Elliott, Rene Ranger lost on points to Greg Bird while another former All Black, Carlos Spencer, posted the only victory for the rugby union team with a unanimous decision against Jarrod McCracken.

Troy Flavell and Willie Mason fought out a draw.

In the night's other professional fight, New Zealand's former IBF welterweight world champion Daniella Smith won a unanimous points decision over the current WBF super featherweight champ Lauren Eagle of Australia.

Both women fought as lightweights at just under 60 kilos. The victory potentially sets Smith up for a another world title shot.
